New for 2026: Coordinated scheduling with building administration — we never disrupt assembly days or common area events.

Regulations

An informational overview of the regulatory framework that governs pest control services in residential buildings in Argentina. This page is for general reference only — consult the relevant authorities for current requirements.

Federal Regulations

Pest control in Argentina is regulated at multiple levels. The national framework establishes the baseline requirements for product registration and applicator certification.

SENASA – Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria

SENASA is the national body responsible for registering pest control products used in Argentina. Only products with a valid SENASA registration number may be legally applied in residential environments. Building administrations can request documentation confirming that the products used in their building hold current registration. We provide this documentation as standard practice.

ANMAT – Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica

Certain pest control products used in or near food-handling areas fall under ANMAT oversight in addition to SENASA registration. In residential buildings, this is particularly relevant for storage rooms, waste rooms, and any common areas adjacent to food service facilities. We apply products registered under the relevant authority for each application zone.

Ley 18.284 – Código Alimentario Argentino (CAA)

The Argentine Food Code establishes requirements for pest control in environments related to food handling and storage. While primarily applicable to food businesses, its provisions influence the standards applied in residential buildings that contain commercial premises or shared food storage areas.

Salta Province Requirements

Habilitación Provincial de Fumigadores

The Province of Salta requires pest control applicators to hold a provincial fumigador license (matrícula) issued by the relevant health authority. This credential establishes that the individual has completed the required training and has been evaluated as competent to apply registered pest control products. We maintain current provincial credentials for all personnel who carry out applications.

Código Sanitario Provincial

Provincial health codes establish requirements for the handling, storage, transport, and disposal of pest control products within the province. These requirements apply to the service provider — the building administration is not responsible for product management, but is entitled to receive documentation confirming compliant handling practices from the service provider.

Obligations and Documentation

What Administrations Should Keep

Building administrations are advised to maintain records of all pest control services, including the service provider's credentials, the products used (with SENASA registration numbers), the areas treated, and the dates of each application. These records may be requested by health authorities or required for property transactions.

Resident Notification

While no uniform national standard specifies the exact notice period, it is standard practice and generally advisable to inform residents in advance of any pest control application in common areas. Notice should include the date, areas to be treated, and any precautions residents should take. We provide draft notices to administrations on request.

Product Safety Data

For each product applied, a Safety Data Sheet (Hoja de Seguridad) is available from the manufacturer. We can provide these to building administrations on request. The sheets describe the product's composition, safe handling procedures, and first-aid information in the event of accidental exposure.

Waste Disposal

Empty pest control product containers and unused product must be disposed of in accordance with provincial hazardous waste regulations. We handle all product waste from our applications in compliance with applicable disposal requirements — this is not a responsibility that falls on the building administration.
